MTH yesterday and today

In 1853, an engineering facility became a state-owned lead goods factory with its own railway station, and eventually became today's MTH. Due to reorganisation and concentration on more compact lead products, the railway disappeared.

The first discoveries of silver in Christiansdorf resulted in the mountain rush (similar to the gold rush in North America). Because of the silver ore deposits, metallurgy developed in Freiberg as early as 1168. In the 19th century, the smelters were used more and more for the production of lead.

The entire Erzgebirge mining region with its mining monuments still bears witness to the eventful times of the miners. And the TU (University of) Freiberg continues to provide mining and special civil engineering as a degree course. 

Nowadays MTH is equipped with modern CNC manufacturing facilities for implementing even the tightest of tolerances for your technical lead products.

It was not until 2023 that we invested in a new 3D water jet cutting system, with which we can also make bevel cuts. A new extrusion press for manufacturing parts that are bigger and more precise is currently being purchased.
